Who we are
Diamond Speed Academy is a private coaching business run by Coach Miranda Kamalu in Kaysville, Utah. In this policy "we" and "us" mean Diamond Speed Academy. Questions about your information go to [email protected].
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us:
- Signup: the athlete's name, date of birth, sport and training goals; the parent's or guardian's name, relationship to the athlete, email and phone number (or the adult athlete's own); an emergency contact's name, relationship and phone number; health information you choose to share so we can train the athlete safely, such as injuries, conditions, allergies and concussion history; the program you choose; your signed participation agreement; and your photo and video choice.
- Questions and free-session requests: on our contact form, your name, email, phone number, the sports involved and your message; otherwise, whatever you include when you email us or message us on Instagram.
We never ask for Social Security numbers, and we don't collect payment card numbers through this website.
Athletes under 18
Most of our athletes are minors, so we treat their information with extra care. For an athlete under 18, a parent or legal guardian completes the signup and signs the participation agreement. We don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13; if we learn that a child under 13 has sent us information without a parent, we will delete it. We share an athlete's information with the parent or guardian who signed them up.
How we use it
- to schedule and run training and keep in touch with families about sessions and changes;
- to keep athletes safe, including acting on health information and contacting you or emergency services;
- to keep a record of the signed participation agreement and your photo and video choice;
- to answer your questions.
We don't sell or rent your information, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't share it with other businesses for their own marketing.
Who sees it
- Coach Miranda Kamalu, and any coach who works with the athlete, as needed to coach them safely.
- The services we use to run the business, only to provide their service to us: Google (Gmail, where our email and form messages arrive), Cloudflare (which hosts this website) and Web3Forms (which receives what you send through our signup and contact forms and emails it to us).
- Emergency responders and medical providers, if the athlete is hurt or ill.
- Anyone the law requires, such as a court order or a report of suspected child abuse or neglect, which every adult in Utah must make.
Photos and video
Coaching footage stays between the coach, the athlete and the family. We only use photos or video of an athlete to promote Diamond Speed Academy if you say yes on the participation agreement, and you can change your answer at any time. The details, including what we never post about athletes under 18, are in the photos, video and NIL section of the agreement.
Cookies and tracking
This website doesn't use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers or tracking pixels. Cloudflare, our host, keeps standard technical logs (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site.
If you use the light or dark theme button, your choice is saved in your own browser so the site looks the same on your next visit. It isn't a cookie, it is never sent to us or anyone else, and clearing your browser's site data removes it.
How long we keep it
- Signed participation agreements and the signup details that go with them: until at least four years after the athlete turns 18, or four years after their last session if they were an adult when they trained, because they may be needed if a legal claim is made.
- Inquiries that don't lead to training: deleted within about 12 months.
- Health information: kept with the agreement, and updated whenever you tell us something has changed.
- The copy of each form submission that Web3Forms keeps: deleted automatically by Web3Forms after at most three years, or sooner under the shorter setting we choose. The copy emailed to us follows the rules above.
Your choices
Email [email protected] to see the information we hold about you or your child, to correct it, to withdraw your photo and video permission, or to ask us to delete it. We'll answer within 30 days. If we need to keep something (for example a signed agreement during the period above), we'll tell you what and why.
Security
We keep records in password-protected accounts with two-step sign-in, limit who can see them, and keep paper forms somewhere private. No system is perfectly secure; if a problem ever affects your information, we'll tell you promptly.
When you message or follow us on Instagram (@diamondspeedacademy), Meta's own privacy policy also applies to what you share there.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll email you first.
